·Commercial Office Buildings
   TFM Structural Engineers have experience with a variety of office building designs, including those with garages under the main structure. We have been involved with projects that include fast-track scheduling and coordination with construction managers. TFM Structural Engineers can assist you in developing your building project to adapt to the changing needs of prospective tenants. We are experienced with renovation and change-of-use of older buildings as well as structural design to "dress-up" the exterior for downtown revitalization projects.

·Industrial/Research and Development
   Industrial and R&D projects usually have specific needs such as heavy equipment loads, raised access flooring and state-of-the-art ventilation requirements. TFM Structural Engineers can design facilities to support heavy industrial equipment, process piping, air handling equipment, vibrating and vibration sensitive equipment.

·Institutional
   Our engineers have designed several elementary and secondary schools for communities all over New England. Many of these projects involved extensive renovation, modifications and additions to existing school facilities. TFM has also designed new school facilities with such amenities as elevated walking tracks, tv and radio stations, auditoriums and libraries.

·Retail
   Renovation of an existing building and adapting it to the needs of the retail space is sometimes difficult when there is no documentation of the existing structure. TFM engineers are experienced in surveying the building structural components, analyzing and rating the structure for allowable live loads and adapting a building to a new use. We have been involved in historic preservation projects, designing hidden reinforcement to bring the building up to current code requirements while preserving the original appearance of the structure.

   TFM is involved in design of residential apartment and condominium projects with local architects and developers. We have assisted architects and contractors with the design of beams and other supports, reinforcements, remedial work and review of as-built conditions.
