Celebrating Women In Construction Week! Meet Evelyn Picozzi, TFMoran Civil Project Engineer.

March 5 – 11 is National Women in Construction Week.  According to the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) website, “The focus of WIC Week is to highlight women as a visible component of the construction industry. It is also a time for local chapters to give back to their communities. WIC Week provides an occasion for NAWIC’s thousands of members across the country to raise awareness of the opportunities available for women in the construction industry and to emphasize the growing role of women in the industry.”

In celebration of WIC, TFMoran is highlighting our own Women In Construction, one TFMoran woman engineer or surveyor each day this week. TFMoran is proud to have these women in construction, along with other women professionals on our team.

Evelyn Picozzi – Civil Project Engineer at TFMoran, Inc.

Evelyn Picozzi is a Civil Project Engineer at TFMoran, working out of the Portsmouth division office. Evelyn joined the TFMoran team in August of 2017 and has been a wonderful contribution to the company since. She attended Northeastern University and Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology and has over 30 years of experience in drafting and designing, civil engineering, AutoCAD and piping engineering. Prior to joining TFMoran, Evelyn’s experience includes creating details of mechanical components for nuclear power plants, on-site field survey and numerous land development projects on the east and west coasts.

What do you like about your job?

“I like the projects as they are interesting. I like the look of a finished set of drawings. I like the fact that I am constantly learning something new.”

What skills does one need to go into the engineering field?

“I would say one would need to work quietly, as this is a field of thought rather than talk. One would need to be detailed oriented and have a predisposition towards mathematics.”
