TFMoran Announces Robert Duval Stepping Down as President, Promotes Nick Golon

Bedford, N.H.  May 7, 2026– TFMoran, a leading engineering and surveying company in northern New England since 1968, has announced that Robert Duval, PE, will be stepping down as President effective July 1, 2026.  He joined TFM as Chief Engineer in 2003 and has served as President since 2013. Duval will continue to stay engaged with TFMoran as Director of Special Projects and will also serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors

Under Duval’s leadership, TFMoran expanded through strategic acquisitions, earned NH Business Review’s “Best Engineering Firm” BOB Award for 14 consecutive years, and was named “Best Company to Work For” by Business NH magazine for the past two years.

“We’ve built this company around exceptional service to our clients and our communities,” says Duval. “I’ve always believed that when you hire good people and provide them a positive work environment, you create a culture of success that benefits our employees, our company, and ultimately, our clients.”

“I am proud of the important contributions we have brought to our communities – introducing mixed-use developments, new employment opportunities, and workforce housing projects. These projects have improved the quality of life in our cities and towns, strengthening city centers while protecting the surrounding natural resources.”

Nick Golon, PE, will become TFMoran’s next President and Chief Engineer.  He joined TFMoran in 2005 and currently manages the firm’s Civil Engineering Department. He has been a Principal of the firm for the last six years.

“Nick has been an important part in TFMoran’s success over the past two decades,” says Duval.  “I have full confidence that Nick will lead TFMoran to even greater accomplishments in the years ahead.”

“This is an important and exciting moment for TFMoran, and we are deeply grateful to Bob for his many years of outstanding leadership and dedication,” said Golon. “Bob has led with preparedness, insight, curiosity and genuine care for both the people and the work, always encouraging us to ask the right questions and think more deeply. His guidance and presence have shaped our firm in lasting ways. With over 40 years of experience, Bob remains a trusted mentor and valued resource, and his impact will be felt for many years to come.”

Golon will become only the fourth President in TFMoran’s rich 58-year history.  He has more than 25 years of experience in civil engineering. He graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Mass. with a degree in Civil Engineering Technology. He has served on the Board of Directors of the New Hampshire Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers, including serving as President, and was previously a member of the Manchester Conservation Commission. TFMoran Celebrates Cinco de Mayo with NH Housing!

Yesterday, TFMoran’s Bedford office had the pleasure of joining our neighbors at New Hampshire Housing for a Cinco de Mayo lunch celebration, featuring B’s Taco Truck.

Those who participated enjoyed a delicious, customizable meal with options including tacos, burritos, or burrito bowls, along with a variety of meats and fresh toppings. It was the perfect way to spend a beautiful, sunny spring day while enjoying great food outdoors with coworkers and neighbors.

Thank you again to our friends at New Hampshire Housing for the kind invitation and for bringing everyone together!

Cinco de Mayo is an important historical and cultural day in Mexican history! Here are a few quick facts about the holiday:

  • Cinco de Mayo commemorates Mexico’s victory over the French army at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862!
  • The victory was significant because a smaller, under-equipped Mexican army defeated a much larger French force.
  • The holiday is most widely celebrated in the Mexican state of Puebla, where the battle took place.
  • Cinco de Mayo is often celebrated in the United States as a way to recognize and celebrate Mexican culture and heritage!
  • It is not Mexico’s Independence Day, that is celebrated on September 16.

TFMoran Team Advances Water-Smart Landscaping at UNH Workshop

Last week, members of the TFMoran team participated in the Landscaping for Water Quality professional training held March 25–26, 2026 at the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Hugh Gregg Coastal Conservation Center, hosted by the University of New Hampshire.

Our Landscape Architect, Mike Krzeminski, PLA, and Assistant Land Planner and Landscape Designer, Sophie Haddock, attended the two-day interactive workshop focused on designing and maintaining landscapes that are both visually appealing and environmentally responsible. Hosted by University of New Hampshire Extension in partnership with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, UNH Sea Grant, and NH LAKES, the program brought together landscape professionals, conservation leaders, and municipal staff committed to protecting New Hampshire’s water resources.

Participants explored practical strategies for improving ecological function in landscapes while reducing stormwater runoff and protecting water quality in nearby lakes, rivers, streams, and coastal waters. Through hands-on exercises and site exploration at the Great Bay Reserve, attendees applied these principles by designing landscape solutions that enhance natural systems and support long-term watershed health.

Adding to the TFMoran presence at the workshop, Jay Aube, Director of Environmental Permitting, contributed to the program as a presenter, leading a discussion on the New Hampshire Shoreland Water Quality Protection Act and its role in protecting the state’s lakes and waterways.

Programs like Landscaping for Water Quality help professionals stay informed on best practices and evolving environmental regulations while earning continuing education credits for industry certifications. TFMoran is proud to support ongoing professional development that strengthens our ability to design sustainable landscapes and protect New Hampshire’s natural resources.

TFMoran Sponsors Joppa Hill Farm Snowball Gala 2026!

On Saturday, March 14, 2026, Joppa Hill Educational Farm hosted its annual Snowball Gala at the Bedford Village Inn. TFMoran was proud to sponsor this year’s photo station, supporting an event that brings the community together to celebrate and invest in the future of the Farm. Our Civil Department Manager, Nick Golon, attended the evening with his family, representing TFMoran and our continued commitment to supporting local organizations.

The Snowball Gala is Joppa Hill Educational Farm’s most important annual fundraiser, helping sustain the Farm’s educational programs and long-term growth. Located on more than 35 acres in Bedford, New Hampshire, the nonprofit operates as a working farm that welcomes the public to connect with agriculture, nature, and hands-on learning experiences. Through scholarships and financial assistance, Joppa Hill ensures that youth from all backgrounds have the opportunity to participate in its programs and discover the value of agriculture and environmental stewardship.

Funds raised during this year’s Gala will directly support essential animal care, new fencing to protect the Farm’s animals, and the creation of an enhanced outdoor play space designed for the community to enjoy. These improvements will help ensure the Farm remains a safe, engaging, and welcoming destination for families and visitors alike.

Looking ahead, Joppa Hill Educational Farm continues its mission to reimagine the Farm as a vibrant community hub—a place where children and adults can gather, explore, learn, and connect with the land and animals that make the Farm so special. TFMoran is always proud to support organizations like Joppa Hill Educational Farm that strengthen our community and provide meaningful educational opportunities for future generations!

Jay Aube Featured in New England Real Estate Journal 2026 Spring Preview

TFMoran is proud to share that our Director of Environmental Permitting and Senior Environmental Scientist, Jay Aube, CWS, was recently featured in the New England Real Estate Journal’s 2026 Spring Preview as part of their Expert Engineer Spotlight.

In his article, Jay highlights upcoming changes from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), including the implementation of Nationwide Permits (NWPs) beginning March 15, 2026. These new permits will replace the existing Regional General Permits across New England, creating a more consistent federal permitting process.

One key takeaway is the introduction of a standardized 0.5-acre impact threshold for non-tidal resources, which may affect how projects are planned and permitted moving forward—particularly in states like New Hampshire.

For a full breakdown of what these changes mean and how they may impact future development, read Jay’s complete article here:

TFMoran is Feeling Lucky Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day!

Last week, TFMoran staff enjoyed an afternoon full of St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans! We celebrated TGIF-style with a baked potato bar from The Potato Concept in Manchester, complete with crowd-favorite proteins and toppings. The spread also included chicken tenders from The Puritan Back Room, and cupcakes from Market Basket.

It was a fun and festive afternoon as we kept an eye on our March Madness brackets while watching the games on TV. We wrapped up the celebration with a few rounds of Irish-themed bingo and, of course, some Irish brews to match.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
