Insightful Stormwater Solutions Lunch & Learn with Contech
TFMoran’s Bedford Civil and Stormwater engineers welcomed Joshua Stackhouse from Contech Engineered Solutions for a Lunch and Learn focused on stormwater management. Josh emphasized Contech’s collaborative approach—supporting projects from design to construction, not just supplying products.
The presentation covered a range of underground detention systems, including CMP and DERMAX, and highlighted the benefits of maximizing land use while reducing maintenance costs. Josh also stressed the importance of proper installation and on-site supervision, which Contech offers at no extra charge to help ensure compliance and long-term success.
Attendees were introduced to new technologies, like a watertight plastic pipe reinforced with steel, and explored real-world examples such as the Concord Aviation Readiness Center project. The session wrapped up with a live demo of Contech’s design tools, giving the team a hands-on look at customizing stormwater solutions.
Thank you again Contech and Josh for an insightful presentation and the delicious sandwiches from Pressed Cafe! Our Portsmouth team of engineers are looking forward to your presentation and demonstration in October!
TFMoran Attends Gammon Academy Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
TFMoran was honored to attend the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Easterseals Gammon Academy — a transformative project that will have lasting impact on the community and families across the state. Representing TFMoran at the event were Chief Operating Officer, Dylan Cruess, Senior Structural Engineer, Kyle Roy, and Senior Civil Project Manager, Jeremy Belanger. As the civil and structural engineering firm behind this inspiring new facility, it was a proud and emotional moment to celebrate alongside our partners and community leaders.
The morning began with a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony on the grounds of the new school. The event featured moving remarks from various board members of Easterseals NH and trustees of the Bernadine Herron Estate, as well as Manchester Mayor Jay P. Ruais, Joseph H. Campbell, President of North Branch Construction, and Steve Thiel, Assistant Vice President of Community Impact at Southern New Hampshire University. Each speaker highlighted the importance of investing in specialized, supportive education spaces for children with significant behavioral health needs.
Following the ceremony, attendees were invited on a guided tour of the new Gammon Academy. Student ambassadors paired with advisors led visitors through the bright and thoughtfully designed classrooms, multi-purpose spaces, and other interior features. One of the standout moments was viewing the brand-new, accessible, and inclusive state-of-the-art playground, a joyful and welcoming environment where every child can learn and play safely.

The project was made possible through a combination of public and private funding, including a $5 million grant from the Governor’s Office for Emergency Relief and Recovery (GOFERR) from the State of New Hampshire, matched by an additional $5 million from Easterseals NH. Construction began in October 2023 and is expected to be completed in September 2024. TFMoran Attends Unitil’s New Solar Array Ribbon Cutting
TFMoran’s Civil Department Manager, Nick Golon, recently attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Unitil’s groundbreaking 4.9-megawatt solar array in Kingston—the first solar array in New Hampshire to be owned by a public utility. TFMoran proudly provided civil and site engineering services for the project, which features over 11,000 solar panels and is expected to power more than 1,200 homes with clean, renewable energy for years to come.
Thomas P. Meissner, Jr., Chairman and CEO of Unitil, described the installation as a milestone achievement—demonstrating the potential of utility-scale solar while reinforcing the company’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Sam Evans-Brown, Executive Director of Clean Energy NH, emphasized the array’s advanced tracking technology, which allows the panels to follow the sun and maximize energy production. He also highlighted the project’s recent recognition as “Project of the Year” with an Energy Champion Award during NH Energy Week, celebrating its innovative design and impact.
Despite the cloudy skies during the event, Meissner pointed out that the array was still generating 1.4 megawatts of electricity—nearly one-third of its full capacity—showcasing the resilience and efficiency of the system even in less-than-ideal conditions. This project not only demonstrates the practical potential of solar energy in New Hampshire but also sets a precedent for future utility-scale renewable energy initiatives across the region!
