Merchants Way

TFMoran engineers continue to work with Interchange Development, LLC on the design and permitting of new phases at Merchants Way, a 200,000 sf multi-phase, mixed-use development on Whitney Road at I93 Exit 17. The 43-acre site is one of the largest ongoing commercial developments in central New Hampshire.

TFMoran has been part of the development team from its earliest stages in 2018, providing master planning, surveying, civil/site engineering, traffic engineering, utility engineering, and landscape architecture, as well as extending sewer and water utilities to the site and obtaining local and state approvals.

Phase One included an 80,775sf Market Basket store with attached 22,000sf retail space, and a new prototype 12,000sf New Hampshire State Liquor and Wine Outlet, a HomeGoods store, a stand-alone Wendy’s restaurant, and upgrades to the existing Dunkin’ and XtraMart stores along Whitney Road.

TFMoran worked closely with Interchange partner Laurie Rauseo on the traffic study used for the design of a two-lane roundabout at Hoit Road (US Route 4) and Whitney Road, and a single-lane roundabout at the site entrance on Whitney Road.  These improvements were completed in 2022.

Phase Two is now underway with a recently completed Service Credit Union and Jersey Mike’s restaurant, and seven more pad sites are planned for additional retail shops, restaurants, a bank, medical offices, and a cell tower soon to be underway.

Phase Three will introduce an industrial site to the mixed-use development to accommodate a 60,000 sf distribution/ warehouse/manufacturing facility.
