This past weekend, our Assistant Survey Department Manager, Najad Ghanbari, LLS, wrapped up a mentorship program with the University of Maine.
Najad had the opportunity to mentor Roger Lawrence, an arborist with the City of Concord, who is pursuing a career change into the surveying field. Roger reached out seeking guidance for his in-person lab work as part of his online surveying courses — and Najad was happy to help!

National Surveyors Week, organized by the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) , is a time to recognize the hard work and dedication of surveyors and raise awareness about the essential contributions they make to our communities.

TFMoran is pleased to announce the addition of two Survey Technicians, Najad Ghanbari and Benjamin Krisik.
Mr. Ghanbari recently joined TFMoran as a Survey Technician in the Bedford office. Ghanbari has over 18 years of experience in the field of land surveying, most recently as a party chief for another local firm. His experience includes ALTA/NSPS surveys, existing condition surveys, and field operations management.
Mr. Krisik joined TFMoran’s Bedford office in 2022 as a Field Technician, primarily collecting data with State-of-the-Art Leica GPS Systems and Total Station instruments. Krisik will now oversee the preparation of fieldwork for our survey field crews.
In their new roles, Ghanbari and Krisik process field-collected data into CADD for applications such as town tax mapping, utility mapping, topography, wetlands, and zoning. With their extensive backgrounds and accomplishments, Ghanbari and Krisik will be great assets to the TFM Survey team.

Michael Dahlberg, LLS, RPLS, PLS Manages TFMoran’s Bedford Office Survey Department and serves as an Assistant Vice President. He has nearly 40 years of survey experience and is licensed in the states of New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine. Mr. Dahlberg’s experience includes ALTA Surveys, Utility/Roadway Route Surveys, As-Built Surveys, Boundary Surveys, and Conservation Easements.
Brenda Kolbow, LLS, PLS Manages TFMoran’s Seacoast Division Survey Department. She has nearly 20 years of survey experience and is licensed in the states of New Hampshire, Maine, and North Carolina. Ms. Kolbow has a degree in Surveying Technology from Piedmont Community College. She is responsible for the management and coordination of survey projects with staff, clients, contractors, and regulatory officials from proposal through the completion of construction.
Jonathan Devine has joined TFMoran as a Survey Field Technician in the Bedford office. Jonathan recently graduated from Montana State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. His studies included Hydrology, Groundwater, and Wetlands, and he worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Land Resources & Environmental Science at MSU. Additionally, he has an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification from the state of New Hampshire. Mr. Devine is also a licensed commercial boat captain and avid outdoorsman.

Hans Mertsch, LLS, PLS ~ TFMoran Survey Project Manager
Hans Mertsch, Jr. joined TFMoran, Inc. in 1992 and serves as a Survey Project Manager. His experience includes proposal preparation to field operations, research and boundary determinations. Hans has over 37 years of experience in all aspects of land surveying from field procedures to departmental management. He is a Licensed Land Surveyor in the states of New Hampshire and Vermont, and a Professional Land Surveyor in the states of Massachusetts and Maine.
Hans obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology from Northeastern University. He also attended the Massachusetts School of Survey and earned an Associate degree in Applied Science in Conservation Technology from the Essex Agricultural and Technical Institute.

Brenda Kolbow, PLS ~ TFMoran’s Portsmouth Division Survey Project Manager
Brenda Kolbow, PLS is a Survey Project Manager working out of TFMoran’s Portsmouth division office. She is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the states of Maine and North Carolina. Brenda is responsible for the management and coordination of survey projects with internal staff, clients, contractors, and regulatory officials from proposal through the completion of construction. Her field skills include boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction layout and as-built surveys, along with total station data collection and GPS static and kinetic observations. Brenda’s has an Associate’s degree in Surveying Technology from Western Piedmont Community College in North Carolina.

Stephen Bibeau, LLS ~ Field Operations Manager
Stephen Bibeau is TFMoran’s Field Operations Manager and joined the team in 2014. Stephen is a Licensed Land Surveyor in the state of New Hampshire and has over 30 years of experience in the field. He has been surveying since 1985 and attended a Surveyors Assistant Program for Survey. Steve’s responsibilities include scheduling and supervising the field personnel, as well as coordination of field/office production with the Chief of Survey. He is also responsible for project management, technical computations, proposal preparation and managing the day-to-day field surveying operations. Steve is a member of the New Hampshire Land Surveyors Association (NHLSA).
