Unitil Kingston Solar Facility
Kingston, NH
TFMoran is proud to be providing civil and site engineering, land surveying, and permitting services to Unitil for a utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) generating facility in Kingston, New Hampshire. The 4.9-megawatt solar array includes more than 11,000 solar panels across 27 acres and is set to become New Hampshire’s largest solar project—and the state’s first utility-scale solar array developed and owned by a public utility. Once operational, the array is expected to generate enough clean, renewable energy to power more than 1,200 homes.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on August 20, 2024 and the and ribbon-cutting ceremony was held June 18, 2025, both ceremonies were attended by TFMoran Civil Department Manager, Nick Golon. During the events, TFMoran was recognized by Unitil Chairman and CEO Thomas P. Meissner, Jr. for its vital role in site design, permitting, and identifying additional potential PV sites. Meissner described the project as a milestone achievement that reinforces Unitil’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
The project has also received significant recognition, earning “Project of the Year” and an Energy Champion Award during NH Energy Week. Sam Evans-Brown, Executive Director of Clean Energy NH, highlighted the array’s advanced tracking technology that allows the panels to follow the sun and maximize energy production. Even under cloudy skies during the event, the system was generating 1.4 megawatts—nearly one-third of its full capacity—demonstrating the efficiency and resilience of the installation.
TFMoran is excited to have been able to collaborate closely with Unitil and ReVision Energy to help bring this innovative and impactful renewable energy project to life.
