TFMoran Structural Engineers provided structural engineering services for the design of a new six-story, 150,000 sf private student housing facility, with parking at the first floor. Located directly adjacent to the UMASS Lowell campus the building houses 510 students. The building structural system is designed with the Infinity Structural System to allow minimal floor to floor heights. The first floor framing and bearing walls above are supported on structural steel framing at the second floor to allow open areas for parking and support spaces at the first floor. The dorm is connected to a university parking lot by a 104 foot, 32-ton pedestrian bridge.
