TFMoran is providing civil/site engineering, structural engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, stormwater monitoring, construction administration, and permitting services for the new Easterseals Gammon Academy. The two-story 27,000+/-sf. facility is located on the grounds of the Easterseals existing 20-acre campus on Zachary Road in Manchester, NH. The new facility will provide much needed improvements to the learning environment to accommodate the space needs of residents and their support staff.
The Gammon Academy is a purpose-built school that will provide enhancement to the existing residential education facility to better meet the needs of their age 5 to 21 residents, all of whom have significant behavioral health needs. This project is intended to advance the mission of Easterseals to provide plans of care comprised of thoughtfully integrated services that help those with varied abilities live, learn, work, and play throughout their lifetimes.
The new Gammon Academy School will include vital elements of the residential educational program, including multi-purpose spaces to accommodate parent visits, therapy sessions, and vocational programming. The expansion includes flexible multi-purpose rooms to accommodate up to ten students per room, spaces for parents to visit, and technology upgrades for conferences, virtual parent visits, training, and staff meetings.
Easterseals NH was awarded $5M in Governor’s Office for Emergency Relief and Recovery from the State of New Hampshire to design and build the school. Easterseals NH matched this funding with its own $5M in funding, with additional funds still being needed to complete the school and implement the selected technology. Construction of the new school began in October 2023 and is estimated to be completed in September 2024. TFMoran worked with the construction manager, North Branch Construction, and Architect JSA Design on the project.
