TFMoran Celebrates “Friday” with a TGIF Staff Party

TFMoran staff came together to celebrate on Friday August 11th, as an end-of-the-work week celebration! Everyone came together to kick off the weekend by having some well-deserved fun! Burgers, hot dogs, watermelon, pasta salad, and potato salad were served!

We also held our second annual cornhole tournament and it was another hit! Each match came very close, but the duo of Kyle Roy (Senior Structural Engineer, Principal) and Marty Gavin (Survey Field Technician) came out on top, winning a Market Basket and Amazon gift card, and of course, the best prize… bragging rights!

We also distributed new TFM swag, colorful sunglasses! They came in just in time for the TGIF party, everyone enjoyed picking out their favorite color, and taking home a pair!

To finish off such a great party, Kona Ice came by with some ice-cold treats for everyone to enjoy. As always, the dedicated, hard-working TFMoran staff appreciated the break to catch up with co-workers and have a good time!

TFMoran Gets New Water Bottles!

These blue and silver water bottles have been a hit! TFMoran has been looking for a water bottle that would work best for our company for some time now. We wanted a product that would keep water cold for hours so that when our engineers and surveyors are on-site, they can stay hydrated and refreshed! These bottles do exactly that! Not only are they insulated and stainless steel, but they are also dishwasher safe which is a huge bonus. TFMoran employees are definitely loving the new swag!

Thank you, Cate Cruess, for modeling these brand-new water bottles!

A Day in the Life of TFMoran’s Stormwater Department

A few weeks ago, Marketing Intern Jackie Gamache had the opportunity to tag along with the Stormwater department for a day in the field. On Wednesday, June 21st, Jackie shadowed Senior Project Manager, Dan Blais, and Stormwater Engineering Intern Brooke Stoncius. They traveled up to North Conway, New Hampshire to check in on some projects the Stormwater Team is currently working on.

Their first stop was a bridge rehabilitation in Tamworth, an ongoing stormwater engineering project close to completion. Dan, Brooke, and Jackie met up with other teams working on the project, including NHDOT to discuss its progress. Dan and Brooke conducted a stormwater inspection of the site. making sure the water runoff was not being affected by the construction activity in the area.

Their next stop was the Mt. Washington Valley Multi-use trail. TFMoran prepared the stormwater pollution prevention plan and is providing stormwater inspection services to The Mount Washington Valley Trails Association. The finished project will be 2.9 paved miles for residents and guests of the area of all ages and abilities. The multi-purpose path can be used for walking, jogging, bicycling, and other outdoor activities.

The trail offers scenic views, access to local businesses, and connections to other trailheads nearby. Once finished, TFMoran will prepare the final wetlands report.

Additional plans for the trail include sections continuing eastward towards Fryeburg and westward towards Bartlett. Eventually, the gaps between each section will be closed, to form a continuous trail system. Learn more about the Mount Washington Valley Trails Association and its projects here.

Jackie had a fantastic day tagging along with the stormwater team. She enjoyed seeing their recent ongoing projects, and all the hard work that goes into Stormwater Engineering!

Thank you Dan and Brooke!

A Day in the Life of TFMoran’s Land Surveyors

A few weeks ago, Marketing Intern Jackie Gamache had the opportunity to tag along with the Land Surveying department for a day in the field. On Thursday, June 22nd, Jackie shadowed field crew Morgan Hershey and Tom Wood. Jackie learned about a project our Land Surveyors are currently working on, and how data is collected in the field.

Survey Field Technician Morgan Hershey demonstrated how measurements and images are collected in the field. Using instruments such as the Robotic Total Station, our Field Crews collect data by measuring and recording distances from a specific point of reference. The data collected in the field is received at the office in real time.

Jackie had a great time tagging along with Morgan and Tom. She enjoyed seeing all the hard work that goes into Land Surveying!
